Ondo lawmaker urges Muslims to pray for Tinubu's success
Sunday Olajide, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, has called on the Muslim faithful to pray for the success of President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu, during the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Olajide urged Muslims to pray for Tinubu to receive divine direction, guidance, and wisdom to address the economic and security challenges facing Nigeria. Speaking in a Sallah message to Muslims in Ondo state, Olajide said that with God's help and the support of Nigerians, Tinubu would perform better after his inauguration on May 29. He described the president-elect as a visionary leader capable of leading Nigeria to the desired state.

Olajide reminded Muslims that the occasion should not just be for celebration but a time to pray for their leaders to do what is right at all times. He called on them to continue to pray for the incoming administration so that its good plans and programs for the country could come to fruition. He noted that while the incoming president had the capacity to turn things around positively, he would need God's help and wisdom and support from all Nigerians to achieve his objectives.

Olajide praised Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, for his efforts in combating banditry and kidnapping in the state. He commended the establishment and adequate funding of the Amotekun Corps for bringing peace and tranquillity to the state. The lawmaker urged Muslims to direct their actions towards achieving peace and progress in the country. He asked them to reflect on the lessons taught by Ramadan by promoting and maintaining good habits and helping others.

Olajide emphasised that good deeds do not end in the month of Ramadan but should transcend throughout a lifetime. As the Eid-el-Fitr approaches, he called on Muslims to celebrate in moderation and adhere to COVID-19 protocols to avoid the spread of the virus. Olajide thanked Muslims for their support and cooperation, urging them to continue to live in peace with one another. He called on Nigerians to support the incoming administration and contribute their quota towards building a better Nigeria.
