The recognition came during a visit by Engr. Luke Oronsaye and his wife, the proud parents of a First Class graduate recently employed by the State Government, to the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq.
During the visit, Head of Service Anthony Okungbowa highlighted Governor Obaseki's unwavering dedication to recruiting individuals with the right skills into the service.
The aim is to ensure their active participation in the development and growth of the state, free from favouritism and bureaucratic practices that have hindered progress in the past.
"As long as your brain is functioning well and you can contribute to the growth and development of the service and governance, then we bring you in," Okungbowa emphasised, underscoring the importance of meritocracy.
Expressing his pride in Engr. Oronsaye's son, Okungbowa stated that he had closely monitored the young graduate's progress and witnessed his exceptional performance within the service. Despite the short duration of his tenure, the First Class graduate had made significant contributions to its growth and development.
Engr. and Mrs Oronsaye conveyed their gratitude to the State Government for its worker-friendly approach. They praised the government for fulfilling its promise to the people, as their son was granted automatic employment upon graduating with a First Class degree, as pledged.
Emmanuel Oronsaye, a talented 24-year-old First Class graduate, was awarded a position in April as part of Governor Obaseki's commitment to employing fresh First Class graduates in the State's Civil and Public Service.
This initiative reflects the administration's efforts to attract and retain exceptional talent for the benefit of Edo State.
